How special is it to love love so much that you make an entire career out of celebrating it?
Because somehow, that's exactly what I did and I think little me would be absolutely beside herself.
I've been a hopeless romantic for as long as I can remember. Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday (yes, really, and it always has been), I was sketching wedding dresses back in my flower girl era (shoutout to my parents for encouraging that phase), and my favorite genre of books is… romance.
Becoming a wedding planner? Not exactly a plot twist.
My love affair with the wedding industry officially began in 2015 with custom wedding invitations. Since then, I've found myself on just about every side of a celebration: managing venues, producing corporate events, obsessing over the tiniest design details, and eventually finding my way to the role that made all of it click.
Enter: Vow & Revelry.
I created this little love letter of a business for couples who believe their wedding should feel just as good as it looks. Because I firmly believe a wedding can be both deeply sentimental and one hell of a party. In fact, I prefer it that way.
Outside of weddings, I'm usually teaching or playing American mahjong, reading, or being completely outnumbered by my four rescue dogs. I have a husband who cheers on every wild idea I dream up and girlfriends who make ordinary Tuesdays feel like an occasion worth celebrating.
And maybe that's what it all comes back to. I really, really love love. Romantic love, friendship, the people who show up for us, and all the little reasons we find to celebrate being alive together.
